Installing Q&A inside Thesis templates

Hello WPMU support,

I've got the Q&A plugin up and running, and things seems to be working great! My issue now is that the CSS is largely completely bare, and I want to integrate the look and feel of our existing site, as well as have the plugin fire inside of our existing layout.

What is the best way to setup the plugin to fire inside of Thesis templates? My guess is something related to if (is_page())... inside of custom_functions.php, but I wonder if there is a more direct way, like simply creating a template file that should handle these requests.

I've read the documentation on customization in the Usage section of the plugin, but with Thesis, I do not believe that simply copying the files to the template directory will create the desired behavior (I've already copied archive-question.php in to the 'thesis' directory, to no effect).

Thanks,
Paul

    Hi @PaulIsLoud,

At one point we had templates available for an older version of Thesis, but things are different since a rather large Thesis update. The main problem is that Thesis makes many changes, and you need to reply on their custom APIs after a certain point.

This makes it difficult to simply add new templates like you would with the normal theme structure.

Getting this all integrated would take some custom development. We don't undertake custom work at WPMU DEV, but if you need to hire a developer, I'd strongly recommend checking our our job boards: https://premium.wpmudev.org/wpmu-jobs/

I wish I could be of more help here, but DIYTheme's API documentation is very thin:http://diythemes.com/thesis/rtfm/api/ (would be nice if each item in that TOC linked to a real page)

    Best regards,

Thank NAME, for their help.
