Is Buddypress right for me? And, what theme is right?

I want to develop my website with community in mind as I scale it up.

While it won't start out with much user engagement, I do want people to create basic profiles with a few questions about theirself.

I need two types of questions/profiles:
Fitness Instructor profiles, and Consumer profiles.

Fitness Instructors will schedule fitness classes and be designated as "Host" of the fitness classes they schedule.
Consumers will be able to "rsvp" and attend those classes.

I want the Fitness Instructors to be able to click on the Consumer's profiles and see a little more about them (like the questions they answered in their Consumer profile).

The same goes for our Consumers. I want them to be able to click on the Fitness Instructor profiles and see more about them (like the questions they answered in their Fitness Instructor profile)

Is Buddypress right for this? Or is a more basic membership model right for this?

If Buddypress is right for this, which WPMU-Dev theme is right for this??

    Hi @Shawnmon

Some of the great things about BuddyPress are its scalability, and the possibility to activate only the modules you need, when you need them.

So, starting out with only extended profiles enabled will allow you to set things up the way you want them initially. Then activate other modules if and when the need arises.

You may also want to investigate the BuddyPress user account types plugin:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-user-account-type-lite/

Here's an article on how to set it up:
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/how-to-create-multiple-user-account-types-for-buddypress/

As for BuddyPress themes, you're in luck: with the impending release of version 107, it will work just fine with any well-coded wordPress theme. I've tested a recent trunk version of 1.7 on numerous themes with no significant issues to report.

Hope this helps! And thanks for being a member

Thanks, and wouldn't it be better to just use a buddypress theme from wpmu-dev since the plugins I'm using (Events+, GoogleMaps, and Membership) are all wpmu-dev plugins?

My question then is; which of the 10 themes might be best for what I'm trying to do, as explained in my question? There were so many themes
    BuddyPress Daily
    BuddyPress Business
    BuddyPress Social
    BuddyPress Community
    BuddyPress Corporate
    BuddyPress Fun
    BuddyPress Magzine
    BuddyPress Scholar
