Is it possible to create a default product?

Is it possible to create a default product?

Almost all the items sold are the same price, so I’d like to save time for the client and have default values ready.

So price/shipping/inventory and maybe product image.

If possible can this be added in functions.php so it’s not effected by marketpress updates.

Hi @mazza,

The best way to do this would be to use our new blog templates plugin to create a template with, then when new users sign up, they can select that template & their new site will be setup using the theme, and all plugins you configured on the template site, with all content etc. All they’d need to do then is configure their site name & other things in the settings, but the default content would be already added.

I don’t have any new users signing up or need new sites added.

There are currently 2 sites with 3 users (2 and 1 on each site) and that will be all.

So not an appropriate solution unfortunately Vaughan.

At least It can be possible that we setup default values in price, inventory and shipping price when you create a new product so you need not to enter those values.

Please paste following code in functions.php of your theme or create a new plugin and modify pricing values according to your need.

To setup default product image, you may use the attached plugin here which i modified so it’ll only work for products though you can get original plugin from here http://wordpress.org/plugins/default-featured-image/
