Is there any way to stop MarketPress stripping out product formatting?

Hi,

When my client creates products using MarketPress, she likes to have bullet points and other formatting in the body of the text. Unfortunately when they’re displayed, MarketPress strips all of it out.

Is there any way that I can stop the formatting from being stripped out?

Thanks in advance,

    Hi Paul,

I just checked this by installing MarketPress on another site that I’m in the process of building.

I added a test product with a single paragraph of text and then 3 bullet points beneath that. If you go to the product directly, it looks fine (the first sentence and middle bullet point are both in bold):

    http://oryo-rojet.net/store/products/test-product/

I then saved the setting to create the store page, and went to look at the list of products, which are at:

    http://oryo-rojet.net/store/products/

As you’ll see, all of that formatting (bold & UL) gets stripped out.

I played around with it a little bit more, and what I’ve learned is that it is the abstract that is stripping out all of the formatting (e.g. if I switch abstracts off, I just get the Product Name, Price and Add to Cart).

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance,

    Robert

I’ve done some more testing, and it seems that if I put content in the excerpt field, that is displayed rather than an automatic abstract with the formatting stripped out.

Is that format stripping being done by WordPress, or the MarketPress plugin?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance,
