It appears that my installed copy of WordPress got corrupted and, after consulting my design partner, we have agreed that the best resolution is to uninstall and reinstall WordPress.

I do have FTP access and have backed up all of my files.

I tried to uninstall WordPress via the database management tool on my GoDaddy control panel, however, when I try to do anything (be it visiting or managing the site), the following error appears:

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Unknown MySQL server host '' (0) in /home/content/03/12122203/html/InFocus/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1147
Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at This could mean your host's database server is down.

Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?
If you're unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

Can I use FTP to uninstall WP, so that I can go in and reinstall a clean copy?

If so, can someone please advise as to how?
