Javascript and CSS Compression

Running Hummingbird and get this failure message when trying to set up Javascript and CSS Compression.. Gzip is not working properly:

- Your server may not have the "deflate" module enabled (mod_deflate for Apache, ngx_http_gzip_module for NGINX)
- Another plugin may be interfering with the configuration
If re-checking and restarting does not resolve, please check with your host or open a support ticket with us.

    Hi Jason,

    Hope you're doing well

There are couple of things that can be checked with host to see if something from server side is causing this.

First thing is to ask them if "deflate" module is enabled on your server as this is required for GZIP Compression to work.

If this is enabled but you're still not seeing any results you should check with them if they have some predefined caching values predefined on server.
Some hosting providers have GZIP compression configured on server side and prevent the changes to be changed by using Hummingbird rules.
In that case you will need to ask them to either update the compression values for you or at least allow these changes to be made from .htaccess or nginx.conf files.

Let us know how it goes.

    Best regards,

Thank NAME, for their help.

Let NAME know exactly why they deserved these points.

Gift a custom amount of points.
