I'm trying to fix a kernel_task issue where kernel_task is using huge amounts of CPU and slowing down my mac. I found these instructions:
Go to About this mac under the apple in the upper left and click on More info
Click on system report
make a note of what it says after Model Identifier
go to your master drive System -Library Extensions IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext -Contents Plugins ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext Contents Resources find the name from step 3 and move it to a folder that you can find again if needed.
Restart and you're done
When I go to step 3 I found my Model Identifier: Macmini6,1
The problem is that there is no Macmini6_1.plist.
I can see .plist for other macmini versions but not the one I need. Macmini4_1.plist Macmini5_1.plist Macmini5_2.plist Macmini5_3.plist
This issue has slowed my mac to a crawl. How can I remedy this?
