Known issues and tablet/mobile glitches

Hello, we have just tested our webpage (using coursepress pro plugin) with iPad Air and Xiaomi (Android Device). Apart from these devices, we also tested this website with Macbook Air.
- We created new page, installed new Wordpress 4.1, downloaded CoursePress Pro 1.2.4.3 and also created child theme. We did no modifications, just created two basic courses in order to test functionality and how responsive this plugin@theme is.

PC (MacBook air @ ThinkPad Edge)
1. Units in Sections are not showing properly when using Safari browser. When using Firefox or Chrome, everything is okay. http://i.imgur.com/1HEkE3w.png

2. I can't withdraw from the course. Even if I click on withdraw and click OK, page would reload but nothing happens. http://i.imgur.com/4NVy57i.png

3. Question: How can we disable that wordpress control bar when basic user (I mean not an administrator) is logged in? I think student doesn't have to see that panel at all.

Tablet responsive design glitches (iPad Air)
1. When on portrait position, I can't see menu items. When on landscape, everything is okay.

2. a) Portrait position: Preview image of the course is too big, it is on the whole screen, user cannot see anything but preview image.
http://i.imgur.com/nVlYSde.png
2. b) Scrolling down on the same page - instructor widget is not ok. It should be besides preview image (which could be half of its actual size)

3. This is on both landscape and portrait position -- We tried to add more content into the Course Excerpt/Course Overview. When you reach maximum characters limit, it gets crazy. It shows maximum limit in courses page, when you click on dashboard, you would get only first sentence. And rest of it you can see on the picture below.

4. When you click on dashboard, happens what I described in the point 3. But when you click on dashboard and from dropdown menu select my courses (I don't know why because when you don't click you get to the same page) then this shows up.

We are not sure if this post belongs here or it would be better to send an email, so we can give you more feedback if you wish.

P.S. we are translating this plugin into Slovak and Czech language. We will provide Coursepress users with translation when it's ready.

    Hi Marian!

I've checked through all your questions here, and we're going to have an array of solutions here.

    1. Units in Sections are not showing properly when using Safari browser. When using Firefox or Chrome, everything is okay. <img src="http://i.imgur.com/1HEkE3w.png">

For your desktop display errors in Safari, would you be willing to share a link to your courses page, so I can register and take a closer look?

    2. I can't withdraw from the course. Even if I click on withdraw and click OK, page would reload but nothing happens. <img src="http://i.imgur.com/4NVy57i.png">

This sounds like it may be a javascript error. Can you please look at one of your Course pages in Chrome, and then right click any element on the page. Select "inspect element" and a console window will open up. At the very bottom of this window, you'll see an error log. Copy down any messages in red text.

    3. Question: How can we disable that wordpress control bar when basic user (I mean not an administrator) is logged in? I think student doesn't have to see that panel at all.

To remove the WordPress Admin bar, the black bar at the top of all your pages, for non-admins, you can use a plugin like our Ultimate Branding to hide the admin bar from users. https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/ultimate-branding/

For these issues, we can give you a little CSS to help, but a working link to your site would be very helpful here to make sure we help you target the right CSS elements. The link from your screenshots gave me an access denied error, so I'm assuming your site isn't yet open to visitors.

    Thanks, Marian!

Hi Marian! Thanks for the link .

Would you be willing to allow support access so we can see these issues from your perspective? If this is ok, just grant me temporary admin access to your site by clicking "Grant Access" button in the WPMU DEV Dashboard Settings from the following path and reply on this thread after granting it?

Admin -> WPMU DEV -> Support -> Support Access Tab

If you have not installed WPMU DEV Dashboard plugin yet, kindly do that here : https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/wpmu-dev-dashboard/ and then allow access as per the above process.

    Thanks, Marian!

    Hi Michelle,

I've granted you access. Inside the units we have our custom code for quizzes, but it's irrelevant and doesn't affect anything. Just take a look at our site on iPad or any other tablet, after that take a look with something smaller, some phone. You'll notice, some stuff are not done properly.

For further clarification, please let me know.

    Thank you in advance, Michelle

    Hi there Marian,

Hope you are well and sorry for the huge delay!

We've found another issue: in Dashboard -> My Profile, input fields don't have the same style (different font & field size).

    I too can reproduce this

    2. a) Portrait position: Preview image of the course is too big, it is on the whole screen, user cannot see anything but preview image.
    http://i.imgur.com/nVlYSde.png
    2. b) Scrolling down on the same page - instructor widget is not ok. It should be besides preview image (which could be half of its actual size)
    http://i.imgur.com/LMAnJSh.png

I believe this is how it is supposed to be - usually on small devices the content shrinks into one column and this case the course description goes under the image.
Otherwise on a small devices the course description will be very hard to read as not every device is with such good screen.

    What version do you use?
There is a new one from 2nd of February - I have tested with the current, and alpha we have for inside testing that should be available next week if everything is normal and with 1.2.4.5
I haven't been able to reproduce most of the problems, can you please update and wait a couple of days for the new one so we can clear the list a little bit so I can compile it for the developers.

Please do not forget to move the new theme from the CoursePress plugin folder to the themes folder.
Otherwise there will be no change on the frontend.

    Thanks,
    Ivan

    P.S.
    @ chathura
Can you please post your own question, the problems you have might seem similar, but the reasons might be completely different.
Besides it is hard to track multiple members problems on a single thread.
    Thanks!
