Lifetime membership question

I have a long way to go, but had a question about lifetime membership.

If I attain it, by getting my 1,000 points, can it ever be lost under any circumstance?

What about if I "gift away" some of the points that were used to get me to 1,000. Let's say I reach 1,000, then gift a helpful post author 5 points, does that mean I need to get another 5 to "re-acquire" my lifetime status?

Wasn't sure, so thought I'd ask. Thanks!

Not sure how much I'm able to say about this, but we are working on some changes to the lifetime membership that would require some extra effort to maintain the membership. Details haven't been fully worked out on this though.

But in short, you won't lose it by giving away points.

Besides, at least 400 of your points have to be given to you by other members or staffers. If you're really helpful, members and staffers tend to be pretty generous.

So generally, by the time you get the 400 points from fellow users, users have well over 600 points of their own, so that isn't even really a factor.

I hope that clears things up.

Hope to see you on the forums a lot more!

Thank NAME, for their help.

Let NAME know exactly why they deserved these points.

Gift a custom amount of points.
