Login Redirect plugin for admin?

If using the "Login Redirect" plugin how would be redirect Administrators to the usual WP Dashboard and all other (or just Subscribers) to the specific page added using your plugin?

That wouldn't be possible out of the box using our plugin, you'd need to use something like Peters Login redirect plugin.

Any chance you could add this functionality soon so that we (as paying customer) could use your plugin instead of having to use a 3, party one?

I agree that this plugin could use a update and when it does, it will allow to choose redirects per role. Unfortunately i am not able to tell you when it will be released.

Thanks! It causes us great problems as we stand before a release soon and need to use the Redirect plugin. As mentioned we want to make use of as many WPMUDEV plugins as possible as we pay for this service and don't want to use outdated 3. party plugins. It will cause great conflict having to start out using i.e. "Peters Login redirect plugin." and then later swap to WPMUDEV's "Redirect" plugin.

How can we move forward with a propper solution? No possible "Quickfix" that if "Administrator" or "Editor" login they will per default be redirected to the WP Dashboard and NOT the custom page?

I understand. Please change line 71 so it looks like this:
if ( !is_wp_error( $user ) && !$reauth && !$interim_login && !empty( $login_redirect_url ) && !current_user_can( 'manage_options' ) ) {

This will disable custom redirects for admins(and by default admins are redirected to admin panel), you can use different capability(https://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_Capabilities) to disable it also for other users.

Nope:slight_smile: maybe our lines numbers are different.
The line that is 73 in your screenshot should look like line 71 and then you can delete line 71.

Doesn't work. I'm being redirected to the custom page and not the WP admin when login as Admin.

And how can we prevent that people just access the page they are being redirected to without loging in - just by typing its URL?

as for the admin redirect, if redirect parameter is not set, it should log in to wp admin. please try with /wp-login.php

Thanks! This looks like what are we need. Any chance that WPMUDEV will develop such a similar plugin in near future, as we would like to use WPMUDEV plugins (only) as much as possible.

Unfortunately your Login Redirect plugin doesn't provide this.

Its possible but for such simple solution i would not worry about at least trying such small outside plugin.

We have something like: https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/membership/
that would let you do it but if you only want to restrict pages for unlogged users then i would say that it is way too powerfull.

The Page Restrict plugin works fine - just a shame it isn't a WPMUDEV plugin. You could buy it? :wink:
