Looking for an ultra-smart tag or category builder for phrases

I’ve seen these on sites before, tag and/or category builders that can read and parse posts, find the most relevant phrases, and turn those phrases into tags and categories.

I am looking for such a beast, either free or commercial. I have tens of thousands of posts I need to tag and/or categorize and I’d like to have a good quality tag/category set (and I can’t see doing it all by hand — I did that once for another project and never, ever want to do it again).

Thankee all!

    Greetings David,

We currently do not have this “beast’ as you put it. However, I may have a solution for you – have you tried the WP Document Revisions Custom Taxonomy Generator plugin?

That could possibly do the job for you – I would love to hear how it goes if you try it out?

To submit a new plugin/feature request to WPMU Dev:

    http://wpmudev.uservoice.com/

The more popular a request is and the more votes it gets, the more likely it will be considered.

It might have already been suggested. It is worth a quick search to add your votes before submitting a new suggestion.

Thank you for being a WPMU Dev member!

If we can be of further assistance please let us know.

    Cheers, Joe

Sadly, that’s no longer in development (and, frankly, it’s not what I want). I want something that will scan a post — say this discussion, and return a set of key phrases. This discussion might generate key phrases like “WPMU Dev”, “ultra-smart tag,” “category builder” — as an example.

    Thanks, and still looking!

    Greetings David,

Just checking if this issue was eventually resolved in another thread? Or by yourself separately to us? Or by us over email with you? Or using our live support?

If so, no need to reply, that’s great news.

If not, or you have any more questions related to this thread, please feel free to post them below including any new symptoms or errors and tick the ‘Mark as Not Resolved (re-open)’ box below the post area (or else we’ll miss it!)

Otherwise, happy days, glad you got it sorted

Thank you for being a WPMU Dev member!
