Lost access to /wp-admin/…

I have blocked access to my webpage as a simple way to restrict access while I am setting up the website. I have done this by blocking all IP addresses except my own in WPMU Defeneder.

I know, it looks preety stupid now…

Then I was updating some plugins earlier today. The first one failed and my access to anything below /wp-admin/ was lost.

I can see the frontend but cannot login to backend.

Will it be better when webserver restarts? It is done automatically every 6 hours.

Can I help myself through FTP access?

Thank you.

    Don’t bother with this ticket.

    I solved it.

    1. I FTP logged in the website.

    2. I renamed the directory of plugin which failed to update earlier today.

    3. I logged in – now it worked.

    4. Removed blacklisted IPs.

    5. Uninstalled failed plugin.

    6. Installed it again.

    Hi Robert,

    Glad to hear you’ve managed to find a solution in the meantime.

    What you can also try in these cases is to add this code to your theme functions.php in order to whitelist Admin IP:

    add_filter( 'ip_lockout_default_whitelist_ip', function ( $ips ) {
    if ( current_user_can( 'manage_options' ) ) {
    $ips[] = WD_Utils::get_user_ip();

    return $ips;
    } );

    Best regards,
