M2 Login Widget isn't working when Two Factor plugin is enabled

When Two Factor Authentication plugin is activated, M2 login widget doesn't work.

That plugin says "Third-party plugins that add their own login forms are only supported if they follow the conventions of the WordPress login form."

    Hey there Mikkel,

hope you're doing good today!

I've already moved this thread to our Features & Feedback section. More people liking this idea, more chances our developers will work on this and will include this feature in our future releases.

For future reference, the Two Factor Authentication plugin in question is the Pro version of this one (plugins has been shared in chat session for testing purposes):

        Hi MIkkel!

We're going to add two factor authentication soon to our own Defender (take a look here: https://premium.wpmudev.org/roadmap/) so I think that should solve the problem in future. I"m not sure when this is going to happen (though it's already confirmed that it will happen) so for now there might be indeed a different solution necessary. The point here is that any plugin that you're using that's affecting user registration must use solely native WP functions/hooks because that's the only way both plugins (that one and Membership 2 Pro) could interact properly with WordPress core.

        Best regards,
        Adam

          Sounds good, Adam.

Do you know any plugins which can handle this until defender come with two factor?

          About the Defender improvements.
Do you know if it will be possible to let users add two factor for there accounts too or only admins? And if all users is allowed to use two factor, will it then be possible to set it up from frontend? For users who don't have backend access?

          Best regards,

            Hello Mikkel!

That's a good question actually. This one might be worth giving a try: https://wordpress.org/plugins/google-authenticator/

I admit though that I didn't try it yet. As for the feature of Defeneder - I'm not aware of the details but if I was about to speculate I'd say that the login procedure itself is the same for all users and I'm sure it won't be only for admins. I'm not sure if it will be possible to enable/disable it on "per user" basis but I think it will work for "all users" rather than this. It actually seems much safer to cover all accounts with 2-factor auth rather than just some of them

            Best regards,
            Adam
