Major Problem With BP XProfiles

I have at least two problems with my Edit Profiles at https://christiangays.com

1. I have two fields for "First Name" and there is no option to delete either one.

2. When someone tries to enter their date of birth and tries to save, the year disappears and a message says "Please make sure you fill in all required fields in this profile field group before saving."

I tried making it "not required" but I still get the same error.

Would really appreciate help for both of these issues.

    I hope you are well today.

    Yes, this is a rather bizarre issue. What I've done is created a new Field Group. I then added the duplicate First Name field to that group. Then, I deleted that Field Group. That seems to have removed the duplicate First Name field.

    Can you please test this and confirm everything is working for you now?

    Thank you James. This has been a tremendous help! Thank you so much.

    Now there is still just one more problem. Whenever someone goes in to edit their profile, I lose their first and last names in the list of Users.

    Please see screenshots. The first one shows Edit Profile where I enter display name, first and last names and save them, but second screenshot shows list of Users where First and Last names are blank.

    Hello Mary,

    I did some digging around and it appears there's a problem (read: possible bug or plugin conflict) with the BuddyPress "Enable BuddyPress to WordPress profile syncing" feature. The information your users are entering is in the database and is searchable in the front-end of your site. However, the synchronization with the native WordPress user fields isn't happening.

    I did some searching around in the hopes of trying to find a workaround for this, but there doesn't seem to be anything I can find. I did find this thread from our forums from over a year ago, but since you're not using our Membership plugin, I don't believe this would be a solution for you.

    The data is there, and it's usable, it's just not synchronizing with your WP Profile fields.

    Through my searching, nearly every post pointed to a plugin conflict. So, unfortunately, the best course of action is to run a plugin conflict test, if this feature is critical.
