Many Files are somehow returning 404 errors

Hi ,

Many of Our website (http://onlydinosaurs.com/) files are somehow returning 404 errors. Seems they are missing on servers.

For example: http://onlydinosaurs.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Only-Dinosaurs-Logo.png Which leads our web logo missing. You can feel the logo is right there when you put your mouse there. But it's not disppearing.

Other than that we have many files shows 404 errors. See attached images. The test result is from https://tools.pingdom.com/#!/bw1n2A/onlydinosaurs.com

SUPPORT ACCESS is activated. Please advice how to fix,
Thank you

    Hello OnlyDinosaurs,

For example: http://onlydinosaurs.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Only-Dinosaurs-Logo.png Which leads our web logo missing. You can feel the logo is right there when you put your mouse there. But it's not disppearing.

I checked and that image is there. It is not throwing 404 error anymore. But image is not in the media library - its only on the server. But it was showing for moment that error - have you uploaded that file again to FTP directly?

Other than that we have many files shows 404 errors. See attached images. The test result is from https://tools.pingdom.com/#!/bw1n2A/onlydinosaurs.com

Those are not 404 errors but 403 - it seems that this is something that CloudFlare does. There is error message about hot linking, it seems that you have that option enabled. But images are there.

Check if you disable CloudFlare will that issue be gone?

    kind regards,
    Kasia

    Hi OnlyDinosaurs,

Hope you are doing good today.

What's more, we can not change anything at Dashboard Theme Section. See attachment. We tried to upload a different pic as logo test. It did not show on the website. Why? Can we assume the theme files are not in the right folder?

This isn't supposed to happen, it should have worked if you have added the image by clicking Upload Logo button, ie images uploaded via the media library should have shown, but the image doesn't seem to get updated.

It seems like it could be related to cache, does your theme has cache option? If not, could you please run a plugin conflict test by disabling all the plugins, and then check whether you are able to upload the images correctly.

Do you have any such option enabled in Cloudflare? I tried disabling Minification in Hummingbird temporarily , but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

Please do let us know how disabling the plugins goes, so that we could give a closer look, if needed. Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,
    Nithin

    Hi OnlyDinosaurs,

Hope you are doing good today.

The strange thing is that we can save changes at all sections except Theme Section. Why?

I suppose by Theme Section you meant the section under U-Design > Settings., right? Since, it's a premium theme, I'm not sure exactly sure what could be the reason here. However, checking the settings, it should have worked without any issues.

The only issue what might have caused would be cache, since you have already checked that out, and ruled it, this is an odd issue. Just to be sure does your theme has any cache features?

To have a better idea about what's being missed here, could you please send us your credentials, so that I could give a closer look.

You can send credentials by using our secure contact form: https://premium.wpmudev.org/contact/#i-have-a-different-question

    - To Mark to my attention, the subject line should contain only: ATTN: Nithin Ramdas
    -WordPress admin username
    -WordPress admin password
    -login url
    -FTP credentials (host/username/password)

    -any other relevant urls

Please make sure to disable cache, and CDN temporarily until it's fixed. Have a nice day.

    Kind Regards,

    Hey OnlyDinosaurs,

Terribly sorry for the delay, it's been a busy week and hence the delay in getting back to you. I checked your website, and now it seems like the changes made via U-Design > Settings are working fine.

I tried to change the logo of the image, and this time it worked fine.

Did you figure this out? It seems like I'm not able to replicate the issue anymore. Please give a closer look, and see whether it works fine, or not.

Not sure what would have caused the issue of changes not being saved, but it seems to work fine now. Please test, and advise whether there is anything else I should be checking here. Have a nice day ahead.

    Kind Regards,
    Nithin
