O.k.-So I'm new here, thanks for sticking with me.
Can someone familiar with Marketpress elaborate on how to configure this plugin to allow others to 'open thier own store' upon my website. I assume I need additional plugins to compliment Marketpress, however I am not to sure what to use. I just need a little personalized 'step-by-step' info from someone who has done "this" ( allow others to open thier own stores ) before.
Thanks for any info.

    Hi iBlogNation,

    Welcome to WPMU DEV

What many seem to do is

Set up a WP Multisite install, see the WP Codex on how to do it

Use the Pro Sites plugin to allow each user to open a subsite (store). This allows you to set up 'Silver', 'Gold' etc. stores with different features. Please find the instructions on the 'Usage' tab on the plugin page

Enable MarketPress on each new subsite to allow users to set up their store. Again, instructions are on the 'Usage' tab on the plugin page.

Depending on how savvy your users are, you may find this post about managing MarketPress from the frontend, interesting

As you work on your site you will probably need more, but that will depend on your specific requirements. Please don't hesitate to ask.

    Hope this helps

The frontend form linked above is a very good plugin if you want to keep your vendors out of the Wordpress backend. An alternative would be to use Easy Blogging to clean up and limit the backend dashboard that your vendors would interact with.

Here are a few more pointers to guide you along:

    1. There is no specific sign-up form for Marketpress, users will register using the default Wordpress process -

    2. Use New Blog Templates if you want to design a standardized storefront that all your users' newly created stores will inherit.

    3. Global cart and Chained payments will not work together. Register for an APP id at Sometimes Paypal takes a while to give approval so it's easier to just register before you need it to go live.

the advice provided by @Mort3n & @hpidriver is very good resources.

as mentioned, if you require any assistance, please do not hesitate to ask.

there are lots of manuals available on each plugin you will find info on the plugins page here select the plugin & click the usage tab to see the instructions, some are quite comprehensive & may have PDF documents you can download.
