Media gallery issue with ACF Custom frields when using Smush Pro

We're having some problems with WP Smush Pro and custom post types. When trying to open media gallery in custom post types created with ACF Pro plugin.

We have issues triggering the media gallery function.

I have a video showing you exactly what we're running into here:

And I have the console error output here:

    Hello Sam Howat,

I hope you're well today and thank you for your question!

I didn't came across similar issue yet, but I believe it's related specifically to the ACF + Smush combo (maybe even to specifics of this particular configuraton) so there's a chance that nobody else simply didn't experience it yet.

Since you have already narrowed it down to WP Smush, I'd like to ask you for one more test before we go any further with this. Could you please downgrade WP Smush Pro to see if the issue still happens?

    To do this:
    - go to "Plugins -> All plugins" page and disable (no need to delete it) WP Smush Pro there
    - download previous version from this link:

    - extract it to your local drive
    - access the site via FTP and go to /wp-content/plugins/ folder
    - remove the "wp-smush-pro" folder from there
    - upload "wp-smush-pro" folder from extracted archive
    - enable plugin back on site and see if the issue still appears.

Hopefully, this will confirm whether this the problem actually does lie in WP Smush solely or if it's WP Smush in relation to latest WP updates.

Of course, after the test is run, you can simply update the plugin again via WPMU DEV Dashboard.

Let me know about results, please.

    Kind regards,

    That did the trick.

I can confirm that when running ACF 5.6.8 and WP Smush Pro 2.7.6 the media gallery popup works properly without any nasty issues.

Curious what could have changed between 2.7.6 and 2.7.7 that would conflict with ACF.

Thank NAME, for their help.

Let NAME know exactly why they deserved these points.
