[Membership 2 Pro] Best Practices for Changing Memberships

We are setting up new memberships for 2019. We want to let the old memberships stay active until each member runs out. But we don't want anyone after Jan 1st to signup for the old memberships.

The current signup page lists all the memberships: https://www.washingtonbrewersguild.org/guild-memberships/

So our idea is to keep the existing memberships active and add the new memberships. We'll take down the default page of all memberships and only use the shortcodes for the new memberships.

Does that sound like the right approach? We don't want to deactivate the old memberships until the run out.

Thanks!

    Hi Tony,

Hope you are doing good today.

If the old membership is recurring payment, you'll have to make sure it's cancelled, so that it gets deactivated on expire date. Yes, what you have suggested should make it work, however you'll have to make sure the users manually subscribe to the new memberships via the /guild-memberships/ page, so that the payment would get authorised.
