Membership & CustomPress – can I combine to have members control their own custom post type cont

I’ve created a community wedding website where vendors are listed in a directory style presentation.

http://www.brideclubme.com/vendors/

I didn’t use the Directory Plugin of yours because it required being able to have Paid and Free listings which Directory does not yet support. As such I recreated what Directory does using CustomPress.

Now my client wants each vendor to be able to edit their own listings.

How do I make a profile for each vendor and link it to their listings?

Do I use membership to do this? Or what else should I use?

Thank you.

Cathie.

    Hello Cathie,

Greetings and thanks for posting on the forums.

It should be achievable without using Membership plugin. You should be using WordPress capabilities.

If you are using CustomPress plugin to create those custom post types, you can define which role can do what with a particular CPT.

For example you can choose a user role and then allow certain capabilities to that user role.

After that you can put the Vendor on that particular role.

I hope that helps. Please feel free to ask if you have more questions on the same.

    Cheers
