membership email communication question

I have membership running, and I have two subscriptions. One is a free 7 day trial and the other is a premium serial monthly with a fee.
I want to communicate with the free trial members to increase conversion to the paid membership, but the communications tool only says so many days before a subscription expires, or so many days after they pay. So, if I use this for emails for each of the 7 days prior to the expiration of the free trial subscription, since it's a finite setting of 7 days, will it send out that same message to my premium members for the 7 days leading up to their renewal? My premium is set to serial monthly.
