Membership Plugin Creates bad URLS

Weird problem. On a host gator account, I have installed a theme, done some customization and installed the Membership plugin, (among others).

On the home page I have inserted some images into the body content. They load as X's in IE only.

I deactivate ALL plugins, including Membership, and the images load correctly. I activate only Membership, and back to X's in IE only.

Without Membership, the URL's are delivered as:
http://www.xxx.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/12.jpg

With Membership, the URL's are delivered as:
http://www.xxx.com/downloadswp-content/uploads/2012/05/12.jpg

Any ideas?

Edit: This is on 3.3.2.

    Greetings opus13,

Due to the fact that membership takes over the entire site with its URL's in an effort to protect and serve the site as requested by the administrator, I have found that applying the images before the membership plugin is activated causes these types of issues and more.

I have also found that re-uploading the images after the Membership plugin has been activated to always resolve the issue you have mentioned.

Thank you for being a WPMU Dev Member!

    Cheers, Joe

In this instance, it was quite different. The URLS were getting rewritten incorrectly whether the image was linked manually or via the WP uploader, and always after the Membership plugin was installed. Only adding the / to the 'downloads' mask fixed the issue.

Thank NAME, for their help.
