Membership Showing Items Users Don't Have Access To

Hello, quick question. I have two groups; employees and members. The employees are using the default group or at least they were the first created, can’t remember. There is no group that has permissions as a visitor. The board members group can only see menu items and so on that they have positive rules giving them access to, however the employees can see (not access) menu items that they do not have permissions too.
