memberships are not showing up in the list

I have a good theory on why they are not showing up, is the membership payment option is "one time payment date range access" the date range access is set in the future and has not arrived yet. Is this the reason why?

Also, on this same topic. If the date range is set for the future, is the customers credit card not charged until the arrival of the date range start date? I'm using PayPal standard Gateway.

Please advise. My customers are confused.
