Message restrictions

Is it possible to restrict one user group the ability to respond to messages only?

No search or send new mail to other user groups including its own.

For example: Customers can only respond to messages sent to them.

    Hello Brian,

    No, that is not possible out of the box in plugin. You can try this small plugin provided by one of support staff – that should hide the dropdown and users would need to enter entire username of the user they want to contact.

    You could combine that with Capability add-on that allows you to restrict the sending of messages on your site to specific user roles. Once this add-on is activated, you can configure it further from:

    Messaging -> Settings -> Capability Settings

    this way, your customers will be able for example to message admins of the site and no one else on site.
