Migration from WP Multi-Network to WPMU

Ok I surrender, I want to move away from MP Multi-Network and into Multi-domains for multi-site.

I also want to understand if there is a method for copying between the domains the full produced site, for example having a dev domain that produces a common look and feel for multiple domains and their site.

Before I tank my deployment trying to run both WP Multi-network (for the first few sites) and WPMU Multi-Domain for Multisite, I would like to start getting some feedback.

Has anyone anywhere been using multi-network? Or is that deprecated and the WPMU is on the path to futures.

I'm getting fatigued chasing how to do this in a long term stable way. Any feedback is appreciated.

    Hello agrajagco,

Has anyone anywhere been using multi-network? Or is that deprecated and the WPMU is on the path to futures.

I can tell you now that WPMU DEV plugins are not supporting multi network solutions - we can only warranty working with Multisite - I'm not saying that our plugins will not work in Multi Network, but we support only WordPress Multisite.

As for Multi Domain - do you want your subsites with own Top Level Domain (mydomain.com) or do you want to give your users option to choose different domains for their subdomain subsite (userblog.otherdomain.com or userblog.mydomain.com)?

If its about Top Level Domains then you should check our Domain Mapping plugin https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/domain-mapping/ - because Multi Domains plugin covers only second option.

Also, because Multi Network is not very common configuration, I can suggest asking on our Members forum https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/forum/members as they will might have more experience with it.

Let me know if you have more questions.

    kind regards,
    Kasia
