Migration wp multisite on new domain

Hi, I have to transfer my wp multisite installation on another domain name. I installed your plugin SnapShot and did back up. How, to install it on the new installation of wp and import the .zip file? You do not do so? Help, please!

    Hi @Stefano

Hope you are doing good today

How, to install it on the new installation of wp and import the .zip file?

Its simple, you can install in the same way you do with normal WordPress plugins. Either our WPMUDEV Dashboard or by manually downloading and installing from Admin > Plugins > Add New > Upload.

After installing/activating the plugin on new site. First move the zip file in snapshots folder inside of wp-content/uploads directory. Now go to Admin Snapshots > Import and click on "Scan / import snapshots" it will automatically scan the directory and add it in All Snapshots list from where you can run restore.

    You do not do so?

Hello, I followed to the letter the guidance for the migration, but the last step does not make me want to import. Practically, in "Finishing the Migration and Changing the Domain" only shows the key changes and other fields (id, etc) are empty

    Hi @Stefano

Hope you are doing good today

I tested it on my own sandbox site and it did worked for me. I imported subsite from network to another network for testing.

Practically, in "Finishing the Migration and Changing the Domain" only shows the key changes and other fields (id, etc) are empty

Then it means you have not taken the backup successfully. What is the size of zip archive. Make sure you have moved the correct backup folder in destination snapshots folder.

But one more thing, if you only want to change the domain name of your network on same server then you don't need snapshot. You can do this by following this article.

    Hope that helps
