mixed content problems on my multisite

Hi, I was having trouble logging in to my multisite and found there were mixed content problems. I have a ssl certificate and have been using and seeing the green https address successfully. All of a sudden I have problems logging in. My host (wpengine) found the mixed content problem and did a search and replace changing the https in the site url for the subsites to http……I was able to log on but now the upfront editor isn’t working. I went in and replaced the url in the wp-options table of the sub site back to https. I was able to use upfront editor but when I logged off and then tried to log back in…no luck. I want the main site and the sub sites to use https……My host is able to support this. Again, everything was working in the past. not sure how to resolve this disconnect.

    Hi Leslie,

Let me be clear about what is done so far. Please correct me if I missed anything:

    # Your site was working fine with SSL for main site and sub sites

    # Suddently you were having issues with login

    # WPEngine changed all HTTPS reference to HTTP for subsites

    # Login worked, Upfront died

    # Then you again changed all HTTP to HTTPS for subsites

    # Now Upfront works, but login died

If I got everything, then can you try the following workaround?

    # Change those subsite URLs to HTTP again and login

    # Change everything back to HTTPS

    # Install SSL Insecure Content Fixer plugin and configure

    # Now logout and try to login again and see if everything works perfectly now

As this plugin will handle all Mixed Content error, I believe you will be able to login without any issue this time.

Please let us know if it doesn’t work for you. We will be glad to investigate further.

    Have a nice day. Cheers!
