Moving site with Shipper to wpmudev host

Hi,
I wish to move this single site (it was created as a Multisite I just changed back to single as support told me) https://budaifarkasok.hu site to here https://bfsingle.wpmudev.host
I tried several ways, added it as a bug here
https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/new-version-of-shipper-to-check-out-shipper-10-beta-12?replies=39#post-1361457
See my related notes:

I just need a solution how to move this site, as I tried a lot without success. I granted access to both.
Thank you!

    Hello Bela,

I'm sorry to hear about all those troubles.

Since Shipper is still in beta and we haven't tested multisite migration extensively it might fail there. I see that you reported your finding in the thread for beta tests of Shipper, so our developers will be checking that.

But - I have had tested Managed Backups restoring from other hosting to WPMU DEV hosting and it worked very nicely.
Try taking Managed Backup (ones from Snapshot Plugin) on your source site and then restore the file on the WPMU DEV site. Wizard will ask you for the database credentials - you will find them in the wp-config.php file in the WPMU DEV site. Copy and past them and start restoring. I suggest after it will finish to Flush cache on that new site.

    Let me how it goes.

    kind regards,
    Kasia

I would like to try restoring from a managed backup but I have a large site, almost 4 GB. Is there another way besides downloading the restore file to my pc and then uploading to the new site? It would take all day, especially the upload. Is there a way to directly transfer it? Im not really sure how to use the Remote FTP feature in Snapshot Import settings.

    Hi Mike D

    How are you today?

I'm afraid the Remote FTP feature in Snapshot wouldn't work well, once this is only for Snapshots, not for Managed Backup, just the Managed Backup will run a backup of entire network on your multisite.

For big sites, we do suggest you use the Managed Backup and follow the steps that my teammate sent on the first reply, also, make sure to download the wp-config.php file from the WPMU DEV hosted site to get the right Database credentials.

Let us know if you need any further help on this.
    Best Regards,
    Patrick Freitas

Hey Pat, I have never been able to successfully complete a full managed backup of the large site :slight_frown: I think you tried helping me before. But even if I could, im still not clear about the following step:

Try taking Managed Backup (ones from Snapshot Plugin) on your source site and then restore the file on the WPMU DEV site

I have not seen an option to restore the managed backup to a different domain.

Thank NAME, for their help.
