Multi-DB plugin setup on fresh install with Plesk

Does the move-blogs.php script require that all DBs have the same user name and password? I went through all of the setup steps, triple check, but move-blogs.php barfs on authorization.

Also, this was a fresh install with no sites created. I created a new site to see what would happen. I had expected that WPMU would start using the additional databases. Nope.

Did I miss a step that turns Multi-DB on?

    Yes, I followed the instructions. Nowhere does it say all passwords must be the same. Also, nowhere does it say if you use Plesk you are screwed.

    Unless you try to go around Plesk, which is normally the kiss of death, the script won't work. Plesk requires each database to have its own authorization (user/password).

    Why did the programmer(s) create db-config.php, which makes you add the login details for every database, and then not use it? Talk about a waste of my time.

    Hi there @David,

    Hope you're well today!

    You could run

    CREATE USER 'username'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'password';
    GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON * . * TO 'username'@'localhost';

    In phpmyadmin to then add that user to all databases with the correct privileges needed, would that work for you?

    Kind Regards
