Multi DB plugin: VIP data bases now or later/

Hi.

Am just starting my database/server learning curve.

Am using the WPMU DEV article:- How to scale WordPress to half a million blogs and 8,000,000 page views a month: as an inspirational guide.
https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/scaling-wordpress-wpmu-buddypress-like-edublogs/

I recognize that the safest way for me to install/activate WPMU Dev's Multi DB Plugin is to pay a pro!!

So, clearly, I need to know what exactly I want, and thus am seeking clarification re: VIP data bases, please.

I aspire to eventually using two or more separate database servers.

So my question is:-

Do I need to have 2 or 3 VIP databases set up now, or can this be configered later. Since I am going to out-source the task, would it be best to set these up now?

Hope this makes sense?

Thanking you in advance.

Regards

Hey @john, hope you're doing well today!

If you're planning to have one or more sites with their own database server (since that's what the VIP Blog functionality is designed for), I would want to have it set up at the start, rather than try to sort it out later.

    Hope this helps!

    Kind Regards,
