Multiple post notifications being sent with Subscribe by Email plugin on the network

Subscribe by Email, tends to be sending out multiple post notifications once network activated.

Something to consider, is the configuration of the system:

1. Another blog makes a new post
2. RSS Aggregator imports the post
3. Subscribe by email sends out notifications to subscribers

Currently member is using php mail to send out notifications.

Additional information can be found within the chat transcript.

FYI I was able to install a plugin Stop Emails to stop them from going out. Then I found 700 in the queue but the bulk delete wouldn't let me remove them. So I had to go into the database in the main table to manually delete the ones with the status of 0.

So I should report the bug that the bulk delete doesn't work.

    Hey there Tony,

hope you're doing good today!

I'm glad that you've managed to sort that out. I can understand that email addresses added as subscribers in multiple subsites, will get notified for each published post for both subsites.
Is this the case here? Please advise!
That's also true that Subscribe by Email plugin uses the native wp_mail() function.

Let us know if further assistance is required here!
    Warm regards,

    Hi Dimitris,

After further testing the subscriptions plugin seemed to work OK. I do have the emails being blocked from actually going out at the moment.

The problem I now see in the email log is there is a message for a number of emails that instead of being sent it says "user content empty". It also says the batch is pending still but no emails in queue.

    Please advise.
