Multisite allow admin to install a child theme

Hello,

Is it possible to give admins on subsites the permission to install child themes? Or regular themes? Only install them and not network activate them. They can only activate it on their own subsite.

    I hope you're well today and thank you for your question!

    Multisite doesn't allow sub-site admins to install plugins and themes and that actually is not possible without some serious "hacking" (in a sense of either changing WP core or creating quite complex additional code), if possible at all. Both plugins and themes are actually stored in the same place for each site and there's only a single database for entire install so letting them install their own plugins/themes would quite quickly lead to a serious "mess", I think :slight_smile:

    You can however, install additional themes and if you do network activate them, admins will be able to activate them on their sites (network activating theme doesn't set it as active them across entire network).

    You could also use e.g. our Pro Sites and it's Premum Themes module to actually let only selected "sets" (if you assign pro site levels to sites you'll be able to assign themes to the levels too) of sites use selected set of themes.
