MULTISITE CONTENT COPIER does not copy GeoMyWp coordinates

Hello WPMU team,

I have just tryed your MULTISITE CONTENT COPIER plugin, I have followed steps in “Usage” tab, but I was not able to transfer posts and custom posts to another WP subdirectory. Well, content and categories were transfered, but not data stored by GeoMyWp plugin. What I am doing wrong? Do I need to set something else?

link to GeoMyWP: https://wordpress.org/plugins/geo-my-wp/

BTW is there any solution to make transfer process automatic? Eg. when post on main site would change or be deleted -> same posts on subdirectory will also change/be deleted.

Thank you for your reply… Hope you will understand me, I am trying best with my poor english.

With kind regards…

S.

    Hello Stefan

    Welcome to WPMU DEV community!

I am not very familiar with the GeoMyWP plugin, however, it’s sound right, because with the plugin you are moving only the post’s content, and not the plugin’s data.

Looks like the GeoMyWp it’s buggy. Even deactivated is still causing issues on my sandbox site.

If you are looking for a way to display a user’s current location, you can try the Google Map plugin:

    https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/wordpress-google-maps-plugin/

I am afraid it’s not possible to transfer the plugins data to another subsite, at the current time with the Multisite Content Copier.

    Please try the Snapshot plugin:

    https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/snapshot/

With this plugin you can create a full backup of your site and restore it on a subsite.

BTW is there any solution to make transfer process automatic? Eg. when post on main site would change or be deleted -> same posts on subdirectory will also change/be deleted.

There is no option to make it automatic. However, if you want to update your subsite when there are new post created on your site, please try the Autoblog plugin:

    https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/autoblog/

The Autoblog uses RSS, so once you set it up, the new posts will be automatically posted on your subsite.

    I hope this helps!

    Kind Regards,

    Nastia

    Hello Nastia,

I am sorry for my late reply due to national holidays in my country. I also want to thank you for your help.

BTW, geomywp login works good for me, I use it for location of posts – this plugin could show distance of posts from users location. But I am not sure if I fully understand your answer for my question – I was looking for solution to transfer custom fields created by geomywp plugin, not transferring plugin settings or another data. Do I understand it right, that copying custom post fields made by geomywp is not supported?

    Thank you.

    Hi Stefan,

Hope you are doing good today

I am sorry for confusion and hope you don’t mind chiming me in here and posting my suggestion.

Using Multisite Content Copier plugin it will copy all the custom fields associated to a post or page. I tested it with default WordPress custom field and it worked fine.

However I am not familiar with the plugin you are using and the way its creating/storing custom fields. If they are native WP Custom Fields associated with the page or post being copied then these should also be copied over.

If its not copying all the content then you can also try Cloner or Snapshot plugin’s alternatively.

Take care and have a nice day

    Best Regards,

    Sajid
