Multisite trouble with subdirectory setup.

Hi there,

I am having a trouble with a multisite. I made a multisite on a subdomain, and first I set it up for the subblogs to be subdomains. This didn't work because Wordpress did seem to truly make the subdomain (maybe something in Plesk?) so I switched to subdirectories. The database shows the new ID and Wordpress shows the new blog in My Sites. However, if I want to go to the dashboard, it loads forever and than gives an error (page is not redirected correctly). If I visit the blog's url I get a white screen. What could cause this and what is the best way to make a multisite on a subdomain?

Thanks in advance and kind regards, Ruud Verhoeven, Leonard.

    Hello @Jeroen

    Welcome to WPMU community!

I hope you are well today and thanks for asking the question.

Would you please make sure you have exact following content in your htaccess:

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
    # add a trailing slash to /wp-admin
    RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?wp-admin$ $1wp-admin/ [R=301,L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
    RewriteRule ^ - [L]
    RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?(wp-(content|admin|includes).*) $2 [L]
    RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?(.*\.php)$ $2 [L]
    RewriteRule . index.php [L]

    And in wp-config.php you have

    define( 'SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL', false ); // subfolder

    define( 'SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL', true ); // subdomain

    Please let us know.

Hope it helps  Please feel free to ask more question if you have any.
