Multisite - when user creates new site, page won't load.

I've installed Multisite, Buddypress and BBpress. All are up todate including the WordPress install.

User gets the

Congratulations! You have successfully registered a new site. is your new site. Login as "Admin" using your existing password.

Once I click on the new provided link, the page gets re-directed back to the user and not the new site.

Also, the Login link won't load and gives the following error message when trying to access :

The page isn't redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.

I've unplugged all the plugins (excluding WPMU Dev and Buddypress) and tried creating the site a new site and now the new page link will load incorrectly on a white background and raw links. The login still gives me the same Firefox error.

Can someone please help me.

    Hi @afrounited,

When you installed Multisite, did you update both the .htaccess file and the wp-config.php file according to what was provided during setup?

This kind of problem is usually the result of one of these not being correct. I'd check the htaccess file first. Here is an example of what it should look like for multisite:

It worked! Sites are now being created.

The only problem is that the Login link on the "Congratulations! You have successfully registered a new site" page sends the user to :

That link lands the user on the front end page and not the wp-admin dashboard.

How do I fix the redirect? Also, where can I edit the "Congratulations! You have successfully registered a new site" page? I would like to insert additional helpful links for new users.

    Hi @afrounited,

I've just checked on this, and unfortunately the BuddyPress registration page doesn't give us many options for changing these with a plugin. All of this is handled in a BuddyPress core file. You can find it under wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-blogs/bp-blogs-template.php
