my multisite does

Hello my multisite does not have wildcard ssl. The subdomains I created are giving the ssl error. I want to force subdomains to http.

    Hello Faith,

I hope you're well today and thank you for your question!

Please go to "Network Admin -> Sites -> All sites" and click "Edit" for each of your sub-sites. Take a look at the protocol prefix used for the "Site Address (URL)" value there. If it's "https://" change it to "http://" and that would set selected sub-site to use non-SSL connection.

That should be good enough unless there's some additional tool (like a plugin or a .htaccess) rule that's causing "forced redirect" for entire network.

Let me know if that worked for you please.

    Best regards,
    Adam

    Hello Fatih!

Let's then make sure about what the problem is  Here's how I understand that:

    1. There's an SSL certificate installed for your Multisite but it is not a wild-card certificate
    2. As a result you can access your main site via "https://" just fine but...
    3. If you access any of the sub-sites via "https://" that gives a security warning and...
    4. If you go to any sub-site you are currently directed to "https://" connection resulting in that error.

    Is that correct?

If so, can you please tell me this:

    1. Is "https://" forced on your main site?
    2. If you try to manually put "http://" into sub-site address your are redirected to the "https://" URL or can you then access the site? I'm asking if currently https:// is forced for sub-sites too.
    3. How the "https://" is forced for the main site:
    - is Site URL set to https?
    - or is it forced by .htaccess?
    - or any other way?

I'm asking all this in order to understand your setup to be able to give you a solution.

    Best regards,
    Adam
