need help setting up digital streaming service and monthly membership options

I am setting up my Instructional Video site. I would like to be able to sell a product that has "X" amount of videos in them. When the product is purchased, I would like the user to have full access to that product forever, including with their free membership.

Then I also want people to have the ability to have a monthly all access membership.

Can you please help me?

    Hello there,

Thanks for posting on the forums.

For something like that you should use our Membership plugin.

    https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/membership/#usage

That page will explain what it can do and how to set that up.

Using Membership plugin you can create different subscriptions on your site with access to different portions on your site.

So a user can get access to Access level A with 50 videos and using the subscription setting, you can either charge them on a monthly or a recurring basis. Or just a one time fee !

I hope that helps. Please feel free to ask if you have more questions on the same.

    Cheers, PC

Thank you PC. I do understand the need for the membership plugin. What I am confused about is what and where is the best way to present these "courses" that I will sell.

I plan on selling courses with anywhere around 3 to 100 videos in a course! I want people to be able to go to a page called "Instructional Videos" that looks like a portfolio. When they click on it, they get brought to the page or post, where there is a description, the list of videos in a table, possibly a few videos are able to be watched for free, but the rest not until it is purchased.

What do you believe is the best way to achieve this functionality? Posts? Pages" Store Items (as long as they cannot be downloaded, but instead placed in a My Videos or Purchases tab section of their account

Hello again @Thomas Popp, I hope you're well today!

You could have all videos on a single page!
Then, using one of these 2 plugins, you can add shortcodes around your "premium" content so only paying members will be able to see them:
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/pay-per-view/
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/membership/

Both Pay Per View and Membership can do what you want. Which one you decide to use depends solely on the way you plan to build and grow your business.

Pay Per View for example will allow you to have your users pay on a per-post basis and also is a lot easier to setup, while the Membership plugin will allow you to have subscription levels (silver membership, golden membership and platinum membership for example) and will allow you to grant your users access to areas of your site.

They are both excellent choices, my advise would be to read the usage instructions of both of them and see which one fits your business plan the best.
    Membership Usage: https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/membership/#usage
    Pay Per View Usage: https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/pay-per-view/#usage

    I hope that helps!

    Cheers,
    Ari.
