Network Theme + WPML support

So glad I joined you guys! Amazing plugins & themes! And now, lets try the support department

I’ve got a multisite wordpress installation with the network theme installed. All my blogs are in english (main) and dutch with the help of the amazing premium WPML plugin.

When I go to the frontpage of my site, where the network theme does his thing by grabbing all the latest posts from each of the blogs, they always show me the dutch version. We always write the english version first and afterwards translate this to dutch, so I guess the dutch post is the latest in the database for each blog.

Do you have any idea if the theme is also compatible with WPML? This because I also saw compatible for your ecommerce plugin (Excellent!).

Hey jorgjansen, hope you are well today!

    Can I just be sure:

    premium WPML plugin.

Which plugin is this? Could you link me to it so I’m certain which one.

On the Multisite install, which is the selected language within the WP Admin, is the default English?

Can I also check the plugin you are using, is the English in the default field and Dutch within a custom one?

The theme will be looking for the default one I would imagine, this is why I ask.

    Let me know

    Take care.

    Hi Timothy,

It’s the paid (and so latest) version of the plugin from these guys:

Multisite install: selected language in wp admin is english indeed.

The plugin is configured with default english and dutch as secondary language.

You can see what happens here:

On the frontpage you see only links to the different multisite blogs in dutch.

We you go to the dutch version it’s the same:

    Hey again.

I know you say the plugin is configured for English. Is your Install set the same?

I.e. in your wp-config.php file what is set for:

    define ('WPLANG', '');

I’ve not used their plugin before, so I can’t be sure. But I’m thinking they use custom fields.

    Please let me know.

    Take care.

added, but to no effect. The theme itself seems to work fine and work correct. It’s the collection of posts in the network that is shown on the frontpage that isn’t going correctly.

How does the network theme collect all the latest posts to show it on the frontpage? Is it reading directly the posts tables of the networked blogs?

Thank NAME, for their help.

Let NAME know exactly why they deserved these points.

Gift a custom amount of points.
