New Blog Template and Autoblog not pulling in featured images

I purchased Echelon theme from I'm trying to create "replicated" sites within my network. I'm using my main blog as the source and using New Blog Template and autoblog feed from main site to create new sites. I'm wanting an almost exact replica of my main for my affiliates to use. The sites are close but the images are not transferring and the Featured images aren't in the correct location. (the main site places a featured image for each post). I added a plugin to include images in my feed. These are showing but not as featured.

I do have autoblog featured images add on activated but its not pulling them in. In fact on the added sites the addon list is empty, see images below. I even checked the extra field in NBT for the autoblog.

Network settings:
Add on site settings:

Main site:
replicated site:

Any ideas on how to make the new sites an exact replica of the main site?

    Hiya Patrick,

    I see that you have the Featured Image and the Image import Add-ons activated on AutoBlog. You also mention a plugin that you have for images. Is this another plugin, in addition to Autoblog and its Add-ons? If so, I would deactivate that plugin and also I would deactivate the Image Import addon. I believ the Featured Image will import all of the images and make the first one the Featured image. Can you try that and let us know how that goes?

    Hi there,

    Since this is one of the more recently active versions of this topic, I'll place my comment in this thread.

    It appears to me that the new version of Wordpress no longer asks you to create a blogs.dir as it used to when moving to Multisite. I could be wrong about this, but I don't recollect this in the instructions last time I did so. In fact, it simply created a new folder under wp-content/uploads called "sites" where all the new files seem to go.

    This will create an issue when using New Blog Templates such that if you don't have your files in blogs.dir, you images won't copy over correctly to the new child site of a site template.

    To fix this, locate the file: /blogtemplatesfiles/blog_templates.php located in the "blogtemplates" plugin folder and replace the following line:
    $dir_to_copy = ABSPATH . 'wp-content/blogs.dir/' . $template['blog_id'] . '/files';
    $dir_to_copy = ABSPATH . 'wp-content/uploads/sites/' . $template['blog_id'];

    and the line:
    $dir_to_copy_into = ABSPATH .'wp-content/blogs.dir/' . $blog_id . '/files';
    $dir_to_copy_into = ABSPATH .'wp-content/uploads/sites/' . $blog_id;

    That may help some of you (though not sure how many at this point :slight_smile: )
