New Blog Template without keeping the relation to parent blog?

I want my new users to start-off with a fancy designed blog. Basically the New Blog Template plugin does what I want, but it seems over complex. It keeps a relation (dependency) with the original template blog. This is unnecessary and unwanted feature for me.

I don't need the relation between the parent blog template and the user blog. I just want to copy all design settings, widgets, Pages, Posts categories and tags.

Even the Categories, Tags and posts are optional. These are already generate with new blog defaults plugin.

Is there any way to use New Blog Template and break the relationship between the blogs?

Or should I search for a other plugin, or start coding my own? Perhaps by extending the New Blogs Default plugin.

Any help appreciated.

    Hi there @pbrink,

Hope you're well today and thanks for your question.

The relation should only be for the initial signup, So it'll only take the settings etc from the parent blog once, it doesn't sync after that.

You could setup a demo site and then have that set as a default and then that'll be automatically applied to each sub site created, if that makes sense?

Or have I misunderstood what you was looking to do?

    Kind Regards

    Hi Jack,

You might be right I got the relation idea from this line in the plugin description:

And because the template is based on a site, you can update and add to the site at any time to alter what gets copied to a new site.

But that line is pretty clear now I read it again. Don't know why I thought this! Excellent! Then this plugin is exactly what I need. I'll test it tonight.

    Sorry for bugging you
