New theme is activated but not displaying

A few months ago I hired a freelancer on Freelancer.com to help me transform my website, OriolBikes.com, to what I had envisioned. He pretty much got it to where I wanted to be and I was happy.

Last month, the landing page seemed to change overnight and some of the images and text didn’t look like it did before. I tried to contact with the freelancer who did the work but never responded. I hired another Freelancer and he made it worse, so I tried to simply change themes to an simpler theme, Refur. However, after I designed the theme and activated it, the website was still showing the old theme.

Frustrated with not getting anywhere, I hired another freelancer to help me switch themes. In a very short time, the theme was switched and more or less got it to where I wanted to be.

After a few days of looking it over, there were certain features of the theme that were missing, so I changed to the Smallblog theme and I’m having the same issue. The theme shows as activated but the website is still displaying the Refur theme.

I’ve tried to clear the cache. I’ve tried on different computers, phones…still same problem. It’s very frustrating and I can’t continue to pay freelancers to adjust my themes! Maybe related to that as well, when I create a new post…it doesn’t show anywhere on the site, yet I can view it from the dashboard.

Please help!

    Hello Oriol,

I hope you're well today and thank you for your question!

I have checked your site and I believe it is a cache related issue. After clearing the cache the theme doesn't change but reloading the site in browser for the second time with all browser cache cleared loads the proper (the active one) theme. It also does load an active theme if a cache bypass link is used. For some reason though it seems that the cache is a bit "stubborn" and I'm not yet sure why.

The support access that you granted for me only gives me an access to the site's dashboard/back-end and I'd like to review files on the site and some other settings. Therefore I would need to access the site directly. That said, please send in:

    Subject: "Attn: Adam Czajczyk"

    - Mark to my attention, the subject line should contain only: ATTN: Adam Czajczyk
    - Do not include anything else in the subject line, doing so may delay our response due to how email filtering works.
    - Link back to this thread
    - login URL and admin account login credentials (may be a temporary admin account) data
    - Include FTP log-in details (hostname, username & password)
    - Include hosting control panel access details (login address, username & password) - cPanel's usually the control panel used for this, but your provider may use something else; I'll need this for accessing your site's database, preferably via phpMyAdmin
    - Include any relevant URLs for your site

Please use our contact form here https://premium.wpmudev.org/contact/#i-have-a-different-question

I'll then check your site again and I hope I'll be able to find a permanent solution for you.

    Best regards,
    Adam
