New to WP, is my site a multisite

Looking through the manual for beginners and was wondering if my site is consider a multisite, list: homepage with directory, classified, job board and membership login and so on... and if so do I need to set MySQL database with wp-single_wpms or can I use my own names? or will this cause conflicts??

    Hi @reinkedean

    Welcome to the forums!

If you don't know if your site is multisite or not, then it probably isn't. Because you need to set that up manually.

Multisite means that you have a network of websites that can all be managed from a central network admin area.

If you do not need a network containing multiple sites, you do not need to set up multisite.

If you want to create a multisite network, here are the best step-by-step documents to follow:
    Official WordPress doc: http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network
    Our manual: https://premium.wpmudev.org/manuals/wpmu-manual-2/creating-a-network-to-enable-wordpress-multisite/

You also don't need to do anything in particular to your database to set up a multisite install. Just follow the directions in the manuals I gave you above. If you have trouble with any of the steps, just post here again and we'll try to walk you through it.

Please be sure to read everything in the above docs before you begin any modifications though. Once you're confident you understand what needs to be done, jump in.

As this is your first foray into the wild & wacky world of WordPress multisite, I also highly recommend you make a complete backup of your site before you begin just in case something breaks and cannot be fixed.
