    Hi Pete,

    You can do both by creating a MU Plugin. For creating a MU Plugin, create a folder named “mu-plugins” inside your “wp-content” folder. Then inside that “mu-plugins” folder, create a file with any name and with a .php extension. Now paste the code inside that file and save.

    <?php
    add_filter( 'wpmu_welcome_notification', '__return_false' );
    add_filter('wp_mail_from', 'new_mail_from');
    add_filter('wp_mail_from_name', 'new_mail_from_name');

    function new_mail_from($old) {
    return 'you@yoursite.com';
    }
    function new_mail_from_name($old) {
    return 'YOUR NAME or SITE NAME';
    }

    For getting more idea on mu plugins, you can go through this article: http://premium.wpmudev.org/manuals/wpmu-manual-2/using-mu-plugins/

    The first filter in this code with disable the welcome email. The Second filter will change sender email address and The Third filter will change the sender name. Please replace “you@yoursite.com” with your desired email address and “YOUR NAME or SITE NAME” with what you want to put as senders name.

    Please let us know if you have any confusion. We will be glad to help.

    Have a nice day. Cheers!

    Rupok
