non www gets registration page while www goes to home page

I type in enabled.com and it redirects to...

http://www.enabledu.com/wp-signup.php?new=enabledu.com
"Registration has been disabled"

I add the www to be http://www.enabledu.com and it goes to the home page.

.httaccess =

# Use PHP5.4 Single php.ini as default
AddHandler application/x-httpd-php5s .php
# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]

# add a trailing slash to /wp-admin
RewriteRule ^wp-admin$ wp-admin/ [R=301,L]

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
RewriteRule ^ - [L]
RewriteRule ^(wp-(content|admin|includes).*) $1 [L]
RewriteRule ^(.*\.php)$ $1 [L]
RewriteRule . index.php [L]
</IfModule>

# END WordPress

wp-config =

/* Multisite */
define('WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE', true);
define('DOMAINMAPPING_ALLOWMULTI', true);
define('MULTISITE', true);
define('SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL', true);
define('DOMAIN_CURRENT_SITE', 'www.enabledu.com');
define('PATH_CURRENT_SITE', '/');
define('SITE_ID_CURRENT_SITE', 1);
define('BLOG_ID_CURRENT_SITE', 1);

define( 'SUNRISE', 'on' );

If I get rid of the www in front of the enabled.com, I get a redirect loop.

the DNS on the server, an A record of "@" and "*" point to root IP address. CNAME has www pointing to enabled.com (Can a wildcard point to http://www.enabledu.com?)

I would like enabled.com not have a "Registration Disabled" and go to the home page.
