Nonce Error When Plugin Is Activated

Hi – I would like to know why I receive an nonce error in the URL whenever I activate a plugin while logged in as a multisite user. This is the output in the URL “_error_nonce=49a2c54fb0”. It seems like the “49a2c54fb0” is some kind of log number.

Is there a way to view the log of nonces? If so, how is this done?

    Hi Taylor Miller,

    Hope you are doing good today. :slight_smile:

    The numbers 49a2c54fb0, are nonce which is a unique number, which helps protect your requests. Did you preform a plugin conflict test to rule out, whether any plugin is causing this? If you have enabled debug mode, all the errors generated within the system, will be generated in the debug.log file.

    To enable debug mode you’ll have to open your wp-config.php file located in your root directory, and look for define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false);. Change it to:

    define('WP_DEBUG', true);

    In order to enable the error logging to a file on the server you need to add:

    define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );
    define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false );

    After making the above changes, please try to activate the plugin. All the errors related to the plugin, will be saved to a debug.log log file inside the /wp-content/ directory.

    You can find more details about debugging here.

    I hope this helps. Have a nice day.

    Kind Regards,
