Okay, I have

Okay, I have been tossing around the idea of creating a multisite but I have a question that this all hinges on.

If I have a multisite running and one of the sites gets hacked from either a pooh butt password or a bad code somewhere. Does this compromise every site associated with its network?

Like my whole network is hosed or is there more separation than that?

    Hello Gerald ,

    Thank you for your question!

All users are registered on a root site of the WordPress multisite installation and then they can be registered on subsites. So if your personal account, which is a super admin account will be hacked the user with these credentials will have access to an entire network.

If only admin account will be compromised then the network will not be affected.

You can always protect your site with security plugins like WP DEFENDER and by installing SSL certificate.

The Defender plugin scans and provides vulnerability report, hardening your site and provides recommendations to improve site’s security.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Kind regards,
