I get a Open Base Dir FAIL error after updating Snapshot Pro on all my sites. Why?

    Hi Per

Hope you are doing well. So sorry to hear the inconvenience you are having. Let me describe.

The "open_basedir" setting in php.ini limits file access for PHP scripts to designated directories. A limited number of hosting providers feel that without this setting your site is less secure, while this can easily be disputed it's still a fact that some hosts will not disable it. Below are two options that you can work with your hosting provider on to get around this security setup configuration:

Disable: Work with your host to see if they can disable or temporarily disable this option on your account, to see if it's conflicting with Snapshot.
Configure: Work with your host to add all the 'concerned folder path' where open_basedir is restricting access this should include all files and the root folder where your WordPress install is located.

The following two articles will help you understand regarding open_basedir and how you can relax the rules:
    http://php.net/manual/en/ini.core.php#ini.open-basedir
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/223800/how-can-i-relax-phps-open-basedir-restriction

Can you try the workaround provided in the second article? I believe that will help you in resolving this.

Moreover, you can also talk to your host regarding this and they can help you in fixing this.

I believe, after excluding your WordPress directory from the open_basedir restriction, the restoration will work fine.

Please let us know if this doesn't resolve the issue. We will be glad to help further.

    Have a nice day. Cheers!
    Nazmul
