options/variations for one off products.

Hi
Our shop is selling paintings. They are a one off.
We do however want to offer the painting as stretched onto a frame or rolled
Stretched is more expensive.
So if I add rolled or stretched as an option/variation then the inventory shows that there are now two paintings available.
There is definitely only the one.
Can you tell me how I should set this up?

    Hi there @Jo,

Hope you're well today and thanks for your question.

Does this actually show multiple separate listings in the store?

On the products > when adding a new product, if your using variation, each variation should show as a dropdown selection on the front end.

So in the variation, you'd add the name of the variation, the price and how many you have of that variation in stock.

    Please advise

    Thanks!

    Kind Regards
    Jack.

    Thanks for your reply.
    When I add the variations
    rolled
    stretched
It now presumes that I have at least one rolled painting and one stretched.
    So two paintings in all.
That is if I buy the rolled option then the stretched option is still available.
But there is only the one painting.

It is possible therefore for two people to buy the same painting which is not good.
Do you see what I mean?

    Hi there @Jo,

Hope you're well today, that makes sense, I've checked this and your correct.

Each variation's stock is controlled separately, so if you have 1 in stock of each, they'd be able to purchase the same painting 3 times.

Maybe have each variation as a separate product? What is the current variation names?

    Thanks!

    Kind Regards
    Jack.
