Out of Stock

I'm working with a website with physical products. I can't find a place to mark an item as "out of stock."

    Hello Jan,

I hope you're well today and thank you for your question!

There's no explicit "out of stock" setting but you can achieve it one of two ways: it can be set "out of stock" automatically or "manually" by your.

    1. Automatic stock tracking

Near the bottom of "Price, Inventory & Variants" section of a product edit screen there's a "Track Product Inventory" check-box. Make sure that it's checked and then in "Quantity" field set the number of items currently in stock.

Each order will be accordingly subtracted from from that amount and current stock will be updated. Eventually it will reach "0" and MarketPress will automatically set the product to be "out of stock" and won't let anybody order it.

    2. "Manual" out-of-stock setting

In case you don't want to track inventory automatically but just make product "out of stock" manually whenever you wish, use the same option but simply put "0" value to the "Quantity" field.

    I hope that helps!
