Page Formatting

I can't figure out how to make the pages that MarketPress creates full width. Can someone help with this?

The theme that I am using controls the sidebars from within each individual page.

    Hi Linda,
This is all handled by your theme, and is done page by page, and marketpress creates dynamic pages, so you'll have to do this using a custom template targeting a specific pages slug, and another targeting single posts of post type 'products'.

Essentially what you'll want to do for both custom templates is to delete <div id="sidebar"> and its contents, then change css for the content div by adding an inline style to it ala '<div id="content" style="width:900px;"> '.

So, create a custom template php file from page.php and give it the appropriate slug for it to run on your product page (page-products.php). then do the same mods to single.php and rename that (single-products.php)

What we've done, is created a page template with no sidebar and full width content area that will run on any page with the slug 'products', and we've made another template with the same mods that will run on any post type of 'products'.

    Make sense?

    Greetings linda_misiura,

Thank you for this great question and a significant item to bring up.

Erik is absolutely correct in his instruction on how to get the full width for Market Press using your current theme.

There is also further information regarding themes and Market Press contained in the Themeing_MarketPress.txt located in /wp-content/plugins/marketpress/marketpress-includes/themes/ folder.

Thank you both for being WPMU Dev Community Members!
